These User Terms apply to pupils, learners, family/friend contributors, voucher purchasers, voucher recipients and any user who makes or receives a payment, contribution, wallet top-up, voucher, booking or review through YooDrive.
Before sending an enquiry, learners will be shown the instructor's current hourly rate, YooDrive Booking Fee setting and cancellation setting.
By sending an enquiry, the learner confirms that they understand those displayed terms and agrees that, if the instructor accepts the enquiry and creates a booking through YooDrive, the booking may be confirmed on the basis of the instructor's displayed terms at the time the enquiry was submitted.
If an instructor materially changes the hourly rate, YooDrive Booking Fee setting or cancellation setting after the enquiry is submitted, the revised terms should be shown to and accepted by the learner through YooDrive before the booking is confirmed. Where the platform does not support revised acceptance, the instructor-created booking should use the terms displayed at enquiry stage.
YooDrive may operate on the basis that the instructor accepts the pupil enquiry and creates the booking. The pupil does not necessarily need to accept again after the instructor creates the booking, provided the booking reflects the instructor's displayed profile terms accepted by the pupil when the enquiry was submitted.
Once a booking is created, YooDrive will record the lesson price, YooDrive Booking Fee treatment, cancellation setting, school link and any applicable Community Fee for that booking.
The pupil should receive a booking confirmation showing the instructor, lesson time, lesson price, YooDrive Booking Fee treatment, cancellation setting and any payment or wallet status.
YooDrive may charge a fixed YooDrive Booking Fee of £1.50 for eligible lesson bookings made through the platform. This fee supports YooDrive's booking system, payment administration, cancellation support, service notifications, verified review process, platform safety, instructor verification and customer support.
Instructors may be able to choose whether the YooDrive Booking Fee is paid by the learner, absorbed by the instructor, or split between them. The instructor's current booking-fee setting will be displayed on the instructor profile and/or before the learner submits an enquiry.
Where all or part of the YooDrive Booking Fee is payable by the learner, the amount payable by the learner will be clearly displayed before the learner submits the enquiry or before the relevant payment is taken.
The learner-facing labels should be:
YooDrive Wallet means the restricted-use lesson wallet feature within the YooDrive platform. It may only be used for eligible YooDrive lesson bookings, YooDrive platform fees, Balance Assurance charges, gift voucher redemptions and related YooDrive services.
YooDrive may update payment-provider arrangements from time to time.
Balance Assurance is a charge applied when funds enter the YooDrive platform, including wallet top-ups, direct card payments, family/friend contributions and gift voucher purchases. Unless YooDrive states otherwise, Balance Assurance is charged at 2.5%.
Balance Assurance supports payment processing, balance administration, wallet operation and related platform administration. It will be shown before the relevant payment, top-up, contribution or voucher purchase is completed.
A family member or friend may contribute funds to a learner's YooDrive Wallet for the restricted purpose of supporting eligible driving lesson bookings and related YooDrive charges.
Where a contribution is refunded, YooDrive will normally seek to return unused funds to the original payee or original payment method, subject to manual review, payment-provider rules, fraud checks, chargeback checks, voucher rules, contribution rules and applicable law.
Refunds of unused YooDrive Wallet balance are not automatic. YooDrive may review refund requests manually and may approve a refund to the original payee or original payment method where permitted.
YooDrive may refuse, delay, reduce or investigate refund requests where there are:
A manual refund review may include checking the original payer, original payment method, booking status, dispute status, voucher source, contribution source, chargeback risk, account flags and administrative approval record.
YooDrive gift vouchers may only be used for eligible YooDrive bookings and related YooDrive charges. They cannot be redeemed for cash.
Refunds are available only where required by law or approved by YooDrive following review.
Where you use YooDrive as a consumer, you may have certain cancellation rights under UK consumer law, including a possible 14-day cooling-off period for some online service bookings.
Driving lessons arranged through YooDrive are often booked week-to-week and may take place within 14 days of an enquiry being submitted or a booking being created. By using YooDrive to send an enquiry, use YooDrive Wallet, or proceed with a lesson booking, you acknowledge that you may be asking for a lesson to be arranged, booked and/or provided within that 14-day period.
Nothing in these User Terms removes any statutory rights you may have under UK consumer law.
Each instructor selects the cancellation setting that applies to learner cancellations. Supported settings may include 24-hour cancellation terms, 48-hour cancellation terms, or no late-cancellation charge.
The cancellation setting displayed and accepted at enquiry stage and recorded at booking creation applies to that booking.
Instructor cancellation settings apply to learner cancellations, not to instructor cancellations. If an instructor cancels a booking or fails to attend the lesson, the learner will normally receive the lesson value back in full, subject to YooDrive's dispute and verification process.
If a learner has not attended within 15 minutes of the scheduled lesson start time and has not agreed alternative arrangements with the instructor, the instructor may mark the booking as a learner no-show.
YooDrive may request evidence from the learner, instructor and/or school.
Reviews may only be submitted for completed paid YooDrive bookings. YooDrive may label such reviews as Transaction-Verified Reviews (TVRs) — meaning a review linked to a completed paid YooDrive booking record.
Reviews must be honest, accurate, based on the user's own lesson experience and must not be:
YooDrive may moderate, hide, edit or remove reviews that breach these terms or create legal, safety or platform-integrity risk. Instructors may be given a right of reply.
Reviews may remain visible even if an instructor switches off new enquiries or leaves YooDrive, subject to YooDrive's moderation policy and applicable law.
YooDrive, instructors and relevant schools may send necessary service messages about enquiries, bookings, payments, cancellations, refunds, disputes, reviews, safety and account administration.
Marketing messages require separate consent where required by law. Withdrawing marketing consent does not stop necessary service messages.
