Very good driving instructor, makes you feel comfortable and calm. Always takes time in reassuring you understand what’s happening, I highly recommend venas driving school she teaches you in a very positive way and always makes sure she has a very positive relationship with her pupils.

John was a brilliant instructor. He was very patient and friendly which kept me calm and relaxed when learning my part three. John is a good teacher as he breaks down the learning step by step making it easy to master the skills. John is very professional, he was on always time and fitted lessons around my own busy work schedule, and I would definitely recommend him to family and friends

I decided to go on a driving awareness course as I was lacking confidence in my own abilities. I found John extremely pleasant and professional in his approach to supporting me. Although I was very apprehensive I was quickly made to feel at ease. John focused very much on my strengths and in a supportive manner addressed the areas for improvement. I was given time to practice and improve which enabled me to achieve and so my confidence was greater. I recommend John’s services. A most enjoyable session that enabled me to improve my driving awareness.

Due to working full time I had a very awkward diary and limited times and spaces for my training, however john was able to make a plan and schedule for my training. The training I received from John was full of knowledge and references to both highway code and Driving – The Essential Skills Both books were recommended by John to read and understand and so would I in preparation for your lessons with him. He kept the lessons’ lively with various parts of humour in order to make his points understood as well as being learnt. His ability to provide quality tuition as well as humour often by Ad Lib often surprised me. When I made mistakes on my first exam, John was able to assess my score sheet and know exactly where and what I had done wrong on my exam and then guided me thru and helped me achieve the confidence to pass on my second attempt for which I am truly grateful. He was and often always only a phone call away! Johns knowledge and teaching methods as well as his various teaching aids were brilliant and to the point but more importantly they actually made sense (believe me there are a lot of learning materials on the market which can be very confusing). It was a pleasure to learn with John and always a pleasure seeing him on the road teaching the next Potential Driving Instructor or Fleet driver, and reassuring to know they are receiving quality tuition.

My name is Yasmin Tahir and I originally joined a national company where I completed Parts 1 & 2. Once I started my Part 3 training I found that they weren’t really interested in getting me through and the help I needed wasn’t being provided. I had to wait weeks before I could get another session of training. This is when I contacted John Oakley. I found that John took my training personally and provided me all the training at an exceptionally higher standard than before. John went to great lengths to book my training sessions around my existing commitments and at short notice a lot of the times, which the Instructor College weren’t able to facilitate. The standard of training was such that I passed my Part 3 on my first attempt, all credit goes to John as if I had continued with The Instructor College I think I would have given up and possibly never have got through my Part 3. John is a very pleasant and hard working man and will always get back to me when I need help and advice even after I completed my training. I was so pleased with the level of service and dedication from John that I recommended a further 6 people to John all of whom have now qualified as ADI’s. I highly recommend John to anyone considering becoming an ADI. The best decision I made was completing my training with John, he will be a friend for life.

I was introduced to John Oakley through Drivers Driving School in Selly Oak in 2009, having failed my ADI part three driving examination on two previous occasions. My self esteem was very low at that time and I desperately needed someone to help me. John was my light at the end of a very long, dark tunnel. He was polite, friendly, honest, trustworthy and an experienced professional with exceptional communication skills. This gave me the confidence in both him and myself. I will always be indebted to him. I would strong recommend John to anyone. He helped me pass my part three and also my check test. His telephone number always remains with me as my “phone a friend” should the need arise regarding any driving issues I may have.
